When did I need to see an osteopath for your baby?

Many new parents wonder when to see an osteopath for the first time. The answer: often much earlier than you think! Osteopathy helps babies adapt smoothly to life outside the womb. Here are some tips on when it might be a good idea to consult.

In utero, the baby may experience tension

  • Poor in utero position

  • Presence of a fibroid

  • Twin pregnancy

At birth, the baby experiences significant tension

  • Swift or long labor

  • Cesarean section, instruments, forceps

  • Breech presentation

  • Twin birth

Why consult early?

  • Relieve various bodily tensions

  • Improve digestion, sucking (breastfeeding), and sleep

  • Prevent postural asymmetries in the head (plagiocephaly, etc.)

  • Prevent postural asymmetries in the feet due to poor foot position in utero

  • Help with proper motor development

When should you come?

  • Ideally between the 2nd week and the 1st month

  • As early as possible if the birth was difficult

  • Or as soon as you have a concern or questions

🎯 A first preventive session right from birth helps prevent many minor everyday ailments. 📍 In Courbevoie, I welcome you in a gentle setting, suitable for infants from their first weeks. You will find a changing table at the office for a relaxing baby change 👶.
